The Bonsai Review is published twice a year (Spring/Fall). TBR is dedicated to the bonsai artform. We cover people, nature, art, travel and culture as they relate to bonsai. Each issue combines great photography with informed writing by and about important figures in the bonsai world.

On the Cover: From the Pacific Bonsai Expo 2024: Best Large Deciduous award-winning bonsai of Jeffrey Stern, Korean hornbeam, Carpinus turczaninovii. Collected then imported to the US in the early 2000s. Acquired by the owner in 2005, Daisako Nomoto worked on the tree over the years and Peter Tea has refined the tree since 2014. “The tree exhibits smaller leaves and a denser structure than a typical Korean Hornbeam. The canopy must be thinned once or twice a year to let light into the interior of the tree.” (From the program for the Pacific Bonsai Expo 2024).
